The IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship (IWSC) will start the season 2016 with the 54th 24 hours of Daytona Florida next weekend. Also for Dirk Müller something new, as the 40-year-old Swiss based starts his first race as a Ford chip Ganassi Racing works driver with the all new Ford GT.
„New team, new car… all this is even for me with all my experience very thrilling and exciting“, says Dirk Müller. „We have successfully finished all our testing so far and the experienced team of Ford chip Ganassi Racing knows certainly how to win a 24 hours race. We want and will attack from the beginning and we are definitely aiming high. The Ford GT is fantastic and my change from a front to a mid engine racecar has not been difficult for me at all. Now it is a matter of moving all won knowledge together and I am really looking forward.“
Dirk Müller will steer the Ford GT with the #66 together with his IWSC partner Joey Hand and with the experienced french driver Sebastian Bourdais. Bourdais looks back at a very successful racing career not only in Le Mans and Joey Hand and Dirk Müller have won together the 2011 ALMS championship already.
